Undergraduate Scholarships

Texas A&M University-Kingsville offers a wide variety of awards to students that demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership and financial need.  These funds come from multiple sources and do not have to be re-paid. The first step to be considered for scholarships is to be admitted to Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Those students who wish to be considered for need-based scholarships need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA should be received by the Office of Student Financial Aid at Texas A&M University-Kingsville by the priority deadline of March 15.  For additional information on how to complete you FAFSA online feel free to contact our Office of Student Financial Aid .

Departmental Scholarships

Departmental Scholarship are competitive scholarships awarded by the respective college and/or department. The criteria for these scholarships vary but generally include academic major, academic achievement and financial need. Students who are interested in applying for these scholarships are advised to contact their particular department for more information. Please note special application procedures may apply.

General Scholarships

General Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Financial Aid. Many of these scholarships are need-based and students are selected based on information generated from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There is not an application process for these scholarships.

External Scholarships

External scholarships are privately funded scholarships that are usually sponsored by companies, high schools, professional organizations, private donors etc. These scholarships are not directly affiliated with Texas A&M University-Kingsville and the recipients may or may not be TAMUK students. The eligibility criteria  for external scholarships varies widely but generally include academic performance, community affiliations, financial need, or other unique criteria determined by the sponsoring individual or organization.

Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is offered to incoming college freshmen that plan to attend Texas A&M University-Kingsville. It is a four year continuing scholarship pending the students completion of the yearly renewal requirements. The amount  a student is offered varies from $1000 to $14000 per year. The amount of the award is based on a combination of rank in class and the highest of either the students composite ACT or SAT score. The composite for both the ACT and SAT scores do not include the writing portion of the test.
