Texas A&M University-Kingsville has professional advisors for all freshmen and sophomore students.  These advisors are trained in all academic requirements, can assist with lifting holds, registration, grade point average calculation, and many other services.  Please click on the attached link to find your professional advisor and their contact information.;

Texas Success Initiative (TSI)
Students are required to complete an approved TSI exam prior to enrolling into college-level courses, unless exempt.

It was there where I got a glimpse of what an advisor does and met the advising team here at TAMU-K. They were like superstars with rolling carts. It was then that I realized what I wanted to do. As soon as I earned my degree and a position become available for an Academic Advisor, I knew this was the perfect job for me.

I became an Academic Advisor because...As an agriculture science teacher I spent countless hours helping students decide on which college to attend, which major would be the right fit and how to complete scholarship applications. So, when the opportunity to assist ag students in a similar capacity at my alma mater became available, I jumped on the opportunity! I believe it is important to connect with the students you advise.
