J. Eric Winterbottom, Pre-Health Sciences Coordinator; Pre-Medicine, Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Dental
J. Eric Winterbottom grew up in rural central Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois where he began teaching in the Chicago area. He moved to south Texas 31 years ago and taught high school courses in Alice and Orange Grove before becoming the pre health sciences coordinator here at Texas A&M Kingsville. He played trumpet professionally and is a founding member of the Corpus Christi Wind Symphony. Eric became involved in emergency medicine in 1998 and still works part time as a Licensed Paramedic for a 911 ambulance service in Alice and Jim Wells County. He also works for HaloFlight Educational Services as an instructor and sits on the advisory board. He is also a National Registered Skills Examiner for EMS paramedic certification.
Mr. Winterbottom married Anna Gonzalez from Alice in 1985 and has two daughters, Michelle and Carla. Anna and Eric reside on a five acre estate on Corpus Christi Lake near Sandia. The two hope to do more traveling in the years to come and enjoy the country setting and natural wildlife that surrounds the lake.
