Accomplishments
Since 1995 the program has served a total of 195 students as of 2010.
The program has yielded 20 recipients with a doctoral degree which is 12% of all students who participated in the program. 99% of all students enrolled have graduated with a bachelor’s degree since 1995.
Graduate pursuits consist of 65% having completed a degree above the bachelor degree and/or still pursuing a graduate degree at present. This percentage is extensively over the national average for minorities and underrepresented students.
47 students are enrolled in a master’s degree at present with 55 completing a master’s degree. 14 of these students are currently enrolled in a doctoral degree pipeline.
6 students accepted abstracts to present at the 2011 Society for the advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) conference with all expenses paid travel scholarships.
