When will online registration for orientation open?

Online registration for orientation for all new students admitted for Summer 2013 or Fall 2013 will open in mid-February.

How and when will I be notified about online registration?

Students admitted to the university for Summer 2013 or Fall 2013 will receive an official invitation packet in the mail from our Office of Admission, which will contain important information about orientation, how to register, what you need and more. An e-mail will also be sent to the e-mail address we have on file for students. Students will be able to easily access the orientation websites from the home page of the university website.

Who can register for orientation?

All first-time college freshmen and new undergraduate students with 12 or more transferrable college credits who are admitted for either Summer 2013 or Fall 2013 with a complete admission file are eligible to register for orientation. Students who are not admitted for either the summer or fall semesters and who do not have all transcripts and test scores on file with the Office of Admission will not be able to register for an orientation session. Do I have to pay to attend orientation?

Yes. Freshmen are charged a one-time $75 orientation fee, and a $35 orientation deposit is due upon registration. The remaining $40 of the fee will automatically be added to the student's tuition bill.

Transfer students are charged a one-time $35 orientation fee, which will be due upon registration.   

Information on how to pay the deposit will be provided in your registration packet.

Is orientation mandatory for new students?

All new, full-time students with less than 12 credit hours are required to participate and attend all sessions during their orientation.

It is not mandatory for transfer students (students with 12 or more transferrable credit hours) to attend orientation. If a transfer student decides they are unable or do not want to attend orientation, they must schedule an individual meeting with their advisor.

What are the orientation registration requirements?

In order to register for orientation, students must be admitted to the university for Summer 2013 or Fall 2013 and have all required transcripts and test scores on file with the Office of Admission. Students are also required to pay a $35 deposit upon registration. Students are encouraged to check their accounts in Blue and Gold prior to registration to ensure their admission file is complete. Proof of Bacterial Meningitis vaccination must also be on file with the TAMUK Student Health and Wellness office prior to your orientation session.

How do I register for orientation?

Registration for orientation is conducted online. Once it opens in February, registration and deposit instructions will be provided on the orientation websites. Instructions will also be sent to students in the mail with the official orientation invitation packet.
