Group Exercise

Welcome to Group X at the SRC!

We offer a variety of classes including Zumba, Total Body Conditioning, Plyometrics, and much more! All classes are FREE to TAMUK students, faculty, and staff who have memberships. Non-members can purchase a punch card for $40 on Marketplace. The punch card includes 12 passes into the Student Recreation Center. Our student instructors are professional and ready to make the most of your Group X experience! 

About Our Classes

Pump You Up is a circuit class designed to promote weight loss. This class environment is meant to both challenge you and be fun! Want to make a positive lifestyle change? Then this is the right class for you!


Difficulty Level: Beginner to Intermediate


HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. This type of training is centered around short bursts of intense exercise that will keep your heart rate up and burn more fat in less time! By exercising at high intensities with shorter rest times, your body’s need for oxygen will increase, increasing your metabolic rate up to 48 hours post-exercise. This “afterburn” effect is the reason why high-intensity exercise burns more fat and calories than regular aerobic and steady-state workouts.

HIIT is a place for all to come and push themselves to be the best YOU can be. The intensity of this class is taught at the intermediate-hard level, but modifications for each exercise are always offered. Come sweat with us!
