14. If an RFP calls for pre-proposals, do I submit it through ORSP?
Yes, if the agency requires that the Authorized Institutional Representative sign the
pre-proposal.

15. If my proposal is funded, how do I get started?
A project summary with account numbers and other relevant information will be sent to
you. ORSP encourages a visit with our staff to get you off to a good start.
16. What is the procedure to be able to pay someone with grant funds?
Request for Form 500 or EPA. Provide accurate and complete information to prevent delays.
Route the form for appropriate signatures.
17. Whom should I contact with questions about expenditures and fiscal issues for a
funded proposal?
The Office of Grants and Contracts (ext. 2122) can assist you. Personnel issues are the
most frequent source of problems with a funded project. Also, with FAMIS access, you
can obtain information about your project account. Other regulatory and /or budgeting
questions should be directed to the Grants and Contract Administrator in ORSP (ext. 4815).
18. How can I get information on potential funding sources relevant to my interests?
ORSP sends select RFPs via email. It is important that you contact ORSP to ensure we
have your name and email address. The ORSP website lists RFPs under subject areas.
All federal agencies post their "grants & contracts" activity on the Internet. Generally,
you can find this by searching for the acronym followed by "gov".
