Physical Characteristics

Adults average 4 to 5 feet (122–152 cm) but can grow to over 8 ft. long. Very thick bodied and broad heads.

Geographic Range (USA)

This species can be found mostly in the Congo of Africa, but can be found all in the central and south eastern regions of Africa.

Habitat:

The Gaboon viper mostly lives in rainforest conditions and mostly found in the congo of Africa. But can be found in rural parts due to deforestation of their habitats.

Diet:

Its diet consists of birds and mammals.

Venom:

Cytotoxin venom (kills cells mostly by necrosis)

Remarks:

This snake is very docile and bites occur only if direct contact is made, such as stepping on it. Which so happens to happen more often then not due to its great camouflage patterns that hide it very well on forest floors.
