A&M-Kingsillve Music Department Chamber Recital Celebrates Collaborative Music

Faculty from the Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will celebrate the Year of Collaborative as declared by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) with a Chamber Recital featuring works by Mozart and Mendelssohn at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, in the Frank C. Smith Recital Hall.

Faculty from the Department of Music participating in the recital include: Dr. Naomi Seidman, flute; Jonathan Dexter, cello; Dr. Joachim Reinhuber, piano; and Dr. JooHyun Lee, piano.

According to the MTNA, the Year of Collaborative Music celebrates the importance of collaborative music making in society and in the profession worldwide. Started by collaborative MTNA pianists, the Year of Collaborative Music aims to promote the diversity of ensemble playing opportunities available to musicians of all ages and skill levels.

For this project, collaborative music is defined broadly as any activity involving two or more musicians. The umbrella definition would include professionals, amateurs, families, retirees, students of all ages or any combination of interested musicians.

This free event is open to the public.
