Choral Ensembles Perform in Portland May 2

Texas A&M University-Kingsville choral ensembles will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at the Portland United Methodist Church, located in Portland at 4545 Wildcat Drive.
The concert will include various selections from the Renaissance to the Contemporary. Among the works to be included are Fern Hill by John Corigliano, If Ye Love Me by Thomas Tallis, At the Round Earth’s Imagined Corners by Williametta Spencer and Ave verum corpus by William Byrd. The concert will showcase a variety of the talented voices attending Texas A&M-Kingsville and will include solos and selections from the opera workshop.

About the Department of Music
The department of music offers comprehensive programs leading to the following degrees: Bachelor of Music in Performance; Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification; Bachelor of Arts with a Minor in Music; Master of Music Education; and Master of Music, Education/Supervision.
The department enrolls approximately 245 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students. The music programs prepare students for various career opportunities such as music educators, administrators and professional musicians. Facilities include the Bellamah Music Building which is located in the Frank C. Smith Fine Arts Complex and contains classrooms, studios, practice facilities, rehearsal halls, a listening center, a music technology center, recital hall and auditorium. The department of music is an accredited member of the Texas Association of Music Schools and the National Association of Schools of Music.
