For the ninth year, KTAI-FM 91.1, the campus radio station of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, broadcasts nothing but holiday music as part of their special program The 12 Days of Christmas, running December 14 through Christmas Day.
According to station manager Dr. Carl Saltarelli, lecturer in the communications and theatre arts department, the station will air 288 hours of music and announcements. Music selections will include classical, sacred and secular pieces performed by a wealth of talent from around the world.
“When I started 12 Days nine years ago, I had a total of 1,500 songs, so that the play list had to repeat every three days,” said Saltarelli. “Over time, I added new music each year, and now only the more popular renditions are repeated during the 12 days.”
The 12 Days of Christmas program also is carried on the university cable television channel, CMA Cable TAMUK TV-2, and online at www.tamuk.edu/ktai.
