Texas A&M-Kingsville Announces French Club Performance

French composer will be accompanied by A&M-Kingsville music faculty in performance
Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s French Club is hosting a concert of French classical music as part of the celebration for National French Week.
The concert is scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, in the Smith Recital Hall of the Bellamah Music Building. The concert is free of charge and open to the public and a reception will follow in the Blue Room in Fore Hall, adjacent to Bellamah.
The program for National French Week is going to be presented by Aurelien Petillot and friends. Petillot has discussed the program with A&M-Kingsville music faculty and decided on a personalized program.
The program will read as follows:
Albert Roussel, trio for flute, viola and cello, op 40 (15’)
Jean Françaix, trio for clarinet, viola and piano (18’)
Max Bruch, Eight pieces for clarinet, viola and piano Nos. 1, 2, and 3
Reynaldo Hahn, Romanesque for flute, viola and piano (3’)
The written version of the program notes will be available in English with Petillot stating them in French just before each composition.
Aurelien Petillot is the great-grandson of the famous composer Philippe Gaubert. He has a performing group called Viola By Choice that performs in Austin.
