Museum Exhibit Features Work Of Saturday Quilters

The work of Kingsville area quilters is currently on display in the west gallery of the John E. Conner Museum, located at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The exhibit will continue through Friday, Nov. 9, with a reception honoring the quilters from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
Saturday Quilters Do Quilts features 30 colorful quilts created by the Saturday Quilters, a group that meets the fourth Saturday of every month at the Kleberg County Extension Office.
Quilts on display include Texas Tumbleweed by Carol Ann Anderson; French Boutis by Janet Cooper, Travel Log Quilt, I Didn’t Do It, Things that Please Me, I’m Coming Back as a Cat, The Chisholm Trail and Rockport Block of the Month Quilt by Nancy Gilliam; Sunbonnet Sue and Sam by Pat Neher; Tumbling Block Raggy Quilt, Double Chum Dash and Christmas Wall Hanging by Joyce Mooney; Connor’s Froggie Quilt by Debbie Branstetter and Down Mexico Way by June Cress.
Other quilts are Jessica’s African Safari and A Trio of Picture Writing of Texas Indians by Shirley Jones; Joni’s Schoolhouse Quilt by Joni Harrel; Maya’s Garden by Brenda Canizalez; Quilt Squares and Christmas Quilt by Nova Sahtout; Granny’s Flower Garden, Partridge and Pears and Garden Maze by Joan Nuesch; Grammaw and Me, Crazy Quilt Wall Hanging and Sea of Color by Joyce Pharr; and A Patch Party, Buckey Beauty, Pink and White Puss in the Corner and Starry Night by Rosemary Huskey.
