A&M-Kingsville students inducted into honor society

Students from Texas A&M University-Kingsville were recently inducted into the Texas Omega Chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society. The purpose of Alpha Chi is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among university students. The society admits junior and senior students with a grade point average of 3.5 or better from all academic disciplines.
Active chapters are found on 300 campuses in 45 states and Puerto Rico. More than 260,000 members have been inducted since the group’s inception.
Sponsors of the group are Dr. Guadalupe O. Thompson, bilingual education professor; Dr. John Thompson, chemistry professor; Dr. Jim Phaup, political science professor; and Dr. Rosie Garcia-Belina, director of migrant education.
Participating in the induction ceremony were Dr. Dalton Bigbee, associate vice president; Phaup; and Dr. Nirmal Goswami, political science professor. Bobby Bugenhagen, president of the group, assisted in the ceremony.
