 REGISTRATION FOR ATHLETIC SUMMER CAMPS Go to javelinaathletics.com and click on the “Javelina Camps” banner for payment information on camps for athletic training, boy’s basketball and volleyball.

 Tuesday, June 9 through Thursday, July 16 CAMP CONNER Registration is open for this summer program for children ages six through 12, held by the Conner Museum. Campers will have an opportunity to perform science experiments, participate in scavenger hunts and make a variety of crafts using paint, beads, wood and other art supplies.  Sunday, July 5 – Friday, July 10 BOY’S BASKETBALL SUMMER CAMP Camp times are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. July 6-9, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. July 10, at the Steinke Physical Education Center. The camp is for ages 7-17 years old and will stress the basic fundamentals of basketball. This is accomplished through defensive station drills, ball handling, shooting, rebounding and passing. Each camper will receive intensive individual instruction. The camp will also include team and individual contests. Games will be played in the mornings and in the afternoons.  Check-in for overnight campers is July 5, between 5-6 p.m.; check-in for day campers is 7:30 a.m. July 6. Day campers should be dropped off between 7:30-8 a.m. and picked up by 5 p.m.; pick-up for overnight campers is between 4-5 p.m. July 10. The registration fee, after June 20, for day campers is $220 and $400 for overnight campers; overnight campers’ registration includes meals and housing. Overnight campers will have supervised activities planned for each night, including swimming, shooting contest, game room/bowling or movies.  Monday, July 6 FIRST CLASS DAY – SECOND SUMMER SESSION

 Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 JAVELINA TENNIS CAMP at the Javelina Tennis Courts. This camp is for participants age 6-16. Athletes will learn the fundamental skills of Tennis from the Javelina Coaching Staff. In addition campers will be exposed to the importance of footwork, speed and agility as well as serving, forehand and backhand techniques. There will be a full-day option from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and half-day options at 8 a.m.-noon and at 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Athletes need to bring racquets, water bottle and lunch.  Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 23 COLLEGE FOR KIDS Students age seven through 15 are eligible to attend this three-week summer program that provides a unique learning environment outside the traditional classroom. Participants get to choose either academic or elective courses ranging from writing improvement to theatre, focused to provide improvement in core class academics and utilize curiosity and imagination with social and personal enhancement courses. All classes are held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students may choose full- or half-day options. Tuition for College for Kids is $395 for the full-time three week option and $220 for part-time for three weeks. Registration is open through Friday, July 3 through the Texas A&M-Kingsville Center for Continuing Education website at tamuk.edu/continuinged.

 Sunday-Tuesday, July 12-14 ATHLETIC TRAINER’S CAMP takes place at the athletic training facility in Javelina Stadium. This camp is specially geared and designed for the high school age student athletic trainer, and does not require previous student athletic training experience. Tuition is $325 is required, covering meals, lodging, activities, T-shirt, supplies and course workbooks.  Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17 GIRL’S BASKETBALL CAMP offers basketball instruction opportunities for girls in grades K-12. Little Javelina Camp is for girls in grades K-3, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and is designed to introduce the game of basketball to young children. Individual Shooting/Skill Camp is for girls in grades 4-6, from 9 – 11 a.m. and is designed for younger campers to learn basketball fundamentals and have fun at the same time. Shooting/Position Camp is for girls in grades 7-12, from 2 – 5 p.m., and is designed to introduce basketball players to the proper techniques used in shooting the basketball and developing different offensive moves according to their position.
