Celebration of Quilts 2014: In Memory of Shirley Jones
Showcasing the works of the Kingsville Saturday Quilters, this exhibit is always different, with quilts ranging from traditional patterns to art quilts. This year’s exhibit is presented as a tribute to long-time Kingsville quilter, Shirley Day Jones.

Rural Texas Women at Work, 1930–1960
*Women’s History Month Exhibit* (Front Lobby)
Drawn from files of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service archives at Texas A&M University, Rural Texas Women at Work, 1930–1960 uses photographs and explanatory texts to convey a sense of the lives of rural Texas women, helpful programs of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Extension Service, and the changes that swept across rural Texas during the Great Depression and World War II. A Humanities Texas exhibit.

Lions Club Peace Poster Exhibit
Lions Club International sponsors an annual art contest for middle school students in which young people from around the world depict their own versions of ‘peace.’ The Conner Museum is proud to host entries from local middle schools sponsored by the Kingsville Noon Lions Club.

The Bison: American Icon
Created by the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana, and distributed by NEH-on-the-Road, this nationally-touring exhibit contains 22 kiosks exploring the significance of this American native species, the changes to its natural habit, and the effect its decline had on native peoples. The exhibit also examines the bison’s transformation to an icon and the effect its symbolism continues to have today. Among the artifacts included in this exhibit are bison hides, reproduction bison objects, and a full-sized reproduction tipi.
