Texas A&M University-Kingsville

Technology

We live in a highly advanced society where technology has become an important part of our daily lives.  Technology has also become prevalent in educational institutions.  A 2007 study conducted by the Educause Center for Applied Research concluded that today's college students "are using more technology than ever."

A survey completed by students in the residence halls in 2008 revealed that a significant group of TAMUK students were interested in the establishment of a Technology-based LLC.  This community is ideal for aspiring animators, gamers and sound designers as well as any students interested in exploring new technology and innovations.

Opportunities:

  • Attend conferences or conventions highlighting breakthrough technologies
  • Participate in robotics competitions
  • Host guest speakers who are knowledgeable in the areas of video game design, etc.
  • Form relationships with other students who share similar interests.
