Texas A&M University-Kingsville

Giving Thanks

Dinner for JFL There are many ways that Texas A&M University-Kingsville and its students give back to donors.  One such way is through the university's annual Javelina for Life Scholarship Dinner.  Held the first Thursday of November, this event provides a special opportunity for donors to meet some of the students that they are helping through their donations.  It also impresses upon students the importance of giving back through the example set by the many alumni and friends that support the university.
The event includes a keynote alumni speaker that talks on many subjects related to his or her experience at the University and how the giving of others made it possible.  Some of the scholars impacted by donors also share their stories and how scholarships impacted their lives.

But the most important part of the evening is the interaction between donors and scholars.

Whether it's a letter, a personal visit or a simple thanks, we encourage all of those impacted by our donors to show their appreciation in some way.
