What to bring
Recommended items to bring:
- Linens (blankets, pillow, bed sheets, etc.)
- Mattress Pad
- Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
- Shower Caddy
- Desk Lamp
- Trash Can
- Alarm Clock
- Power Strips (extension cords are not permitted)
- Iron
- Quarters (to wash in halls) Optional items (you may want to check with your roommate first):
- TV
- Stereo
- Small Refrigerator (maximum size, 3 cubic ft.)
- Coffee Pot
- Popcorn Popper
- Computer
What not to bring
Fire safety rules do not allow the following in student rooms:
- Candles of any type (this includes candle warmers)
- No smoking in the building
- Incense
- Toasters
- Broiler oven
- Cooking appliances
- Hot plates
- Halogen torchiere style lamps
- Fireworks or storage of flammable liquids
- Cooking is not permitted in the student rooms; a small kitchen is available in each hall to cook
- Room decorations must be used safely; not obstruct exit from room
- Bicycles may not be left in hallways, stairwells, or entrances Other important policies….
- No pets allowed (only small aquarium w/tropical fish)
- Weapons are not allowed on campus
- Use or possession of illegal drugs is prohibited
- Students under 21 years of age may not posses alcohol in their rooms; if one student is 21 and roommate is not, there is to be no alcohol in the room
- All students must observe the hall’s study/quiet hours. Excessive noise is not permitted
