Topic: Minutes from the Special Graduate Council Meeting of June 16, 2004

Faculty Present: Dr. Rajab Challoo, Dr. Steven Lukefahr, Dr. Robert Marshall, Dr. Alberto Olivares, Dr. Ali Pilehvari, Dr. Fred Ponder, Dr. David Sabrio, Dr. Chu-Sheng Tai, Dr. Guadalupe Thompson.

Faculty Absent: Dr. Estrada, Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Hewitt, Dr. Hollingshead, Dr. Melendy, Dr. Shorter, Dr. Stanko

I. The special meeting was held in the Blue Room of Sam Fore Hall. The meeting was called to order at 12:30 p.m.

II. Standing Committee Reports:

A. Curriculum Committee

Dr. Marshall reported that PharmD Program Proposal was revised and approved by the Graduate Curriculum Committee. A motion was made to approve the Proposal. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.

Dr. Marshall reported that the change in the Educational Leadership Draft Program Proposal (to change the delivery methods to include distance learning) was approved by the Graduate Curriculum Committee. A motion was made to support the Draft Proposal. The final Proposal will be submitted at a later date. The motion was seconded and approved.

B. Membership Committee

Dr. Lukefahr reported that the Membership Committee recommended approval of four applications for the Doctoral status in the Educational Leadership program. The Graduate Council unanimously approved a motion to accept the committee’s recommendations.

III. Dean’s Report

Dr. Olivares reported that Dr. Challoo has posted the Graduate Program Review results and the outcome assessment results on the graduate studies website. Dr. Olivares asked council members to review the website and contact Dr. Challoo with any comments.

IV. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 1:10 pm. The motion was seconded and passed.
