Students and faculty from Texas A&M University-Kingsville will present their research during the 3rd Women & Gender Studies Student Symposium 1:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20 in room 221 of the Memorial Student Union Building.

            The Symposium is free and open to the public.

            Topics focus on gender in the new millennium and range from gender roles in professional and everyday life to masculinity and femininity in sports and entertainment. Faculty will engage in a roundtable discussion of approaches to gender across disciplines.

            Patricia Y. Rodriguez, Political Director of Planned Parenthood South Texas, will serve as the symposium’s keynote speaker. Rodriguez, an advocate of women’s access to preventative health care and family plans, will discuss Planned Parenthood’s role in advancing women’s access to reproductive health care.
