The EVEN program is interdisciplinary in nature, offering courses in conjunction with most of the physical sciences and engineering departments, in addition to courses offered within the program itself. Students with both physical sciences and engineering undergraduate degrees are accepted into the program with preparatory courses being offered to allow the students to meet minimum ABET basic engineering requirements as stipulated by the Association of Environmental Engineering Professors (AEEP) and the American Academy of Environmental Engineering (AAEE). Current enrollment is 73 graduate students (40 M.S. students and 33 Ph.D. students) majoring in Environmental Engineering. The program includes the newly approved Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering. Many of the courses offered through the program are conducted on-line and in the evenings. This is to accommodate the approximately 20% of the students coming from local industry who enroll in the curriculum part time.
