Résumé and Cover Letters
You will need a résumé if you are seeking a job, an internship, or applying to graduate or professional school. The purpose of a résumé is to present important information about your education, experience, and abilities and to entice the reader to call you for a meeting where you have the opportunity to market yourself. You might also use a résumé when networking with contacts who could refer you to potential employers.
Your cover letter accompanies your résumé and should be just as carefully prepared as it contributes to the reader's first impression of you. It allows you to expand on your résumé by providing more specific details relevant to the position for which you are applying.
