The Center for Educator Preparation Services (CEPS) offers several different services to TAMUK students.  These include:

  • Information on Educator Preparation Program (EPP) application and requirements for elementary and secondary students.
  • Academic advising for students in the College of Education and Human Performance (CEHP)
  • The Nelson-Denny Test schedule
  • Information on the Alternative Certification Program (ACP)
  • TEACH Project
Our online alternative certification program is designed to train those who have earned any bachelor's degree in a content area outside the field of education to become teachers.  We strive to be the most effective and accessible path for teacher certification in south Texas!

Please use the links to the right to navigate to information about CEPS.  We may also be contacted via email at or 361-593-4051.

The College of Education and Human Performance also houses several State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) approved educator certification programs, including administrator-level and student services credentials.
