Geophysics Minor

Our department, effective Fall 2017, offers a minor in Geophysics. This is a great area of study, which complements your learning by giving you a deeper understanding of how the Earth is affected by Physical Phenomena. It is a great opportunity, which could set you apart from other people in your field by giving you a great insight into the inner workings of our planet. 


A minor consists of the following 18 credit hours. Must complete all of the courses listed below.

  • GEOL 1303/1103 - Physical Geology
  • GEOL 3370 - Introduction to Geophysics
  • GEOL 3431 - Stratigraphy & Sedimentology
  • GEOL 4307/4107 - Applied Geology
  • GEOL 4375 - Seismology
