Geophysics Certification

Our department, effective Fall 2017, offers a certification in Geophysics. This is a great area of study, which complements your learning by giving you a deeper understanding of how the Earth is affected by Physical Phenomena. It is a great opportunity, which could set you apart from other people in your field by giving you a great insight into the inner workings of our planet. 

Requirements

A certification consists of 15 credit hours. Must complete all of the courses listed below.

  • GEOL 3370 - Introduction to Geophysics
  • GEOL 3431 - Stratigraphy & Sedimentology
  • GEOL 4175 - Seismology Laboratory
  • GEOL 4375 - Seismology
  • GEOL 4441 - Non-seismic Geophysical Exploration
