Taking a Stand in History
For information in starting the program on your campus, contact the Conner Museum at 361-593-2810 or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Since 1980, the John E. Conner Museum has sponsored the Coastal Bend Regional History Day, providing students the opportunity to develop their knowledge of History, critical thinking skills, analytical reading, writing, public presentation, media design, and performance skills through creative and original papers, performances, documentaries, websites, or exhibits. The competition is open to all students from 6th through 12th grades. Students from throughout the Coastal Bend region are invited to participate in the event. The Coastal Bend Regional History Day is one of twenty-two regional history competitions in Texas; finalists continue to Texas History Day competition in Austin and the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C. All levels of competition follow the guidelines of the National History Day program. Coastal Bend Regional History Day 2017 will be held on Saturday, February 18.
|Support for the 2017 Coastal Bend Regional History Day is provided by a grant from the Coastal Bend Community Foundation.|
