Working Hands: An Exhibition of Photographs by Rick Williams

From boundless prairie to ranches, farms, towns, and cities, the Texas landscape was shaped and reshaped through manual labor. Developed by Humanities Texas, Working Hands features forty detailed black-and-white photographs by Rick Williams depicting workers in a variety of occupations that constitute the three pillars of the Texas economy: ranching, oil, and technology. Williams’ images of workers and workplaces evoke a powerful sense of what it feels like to engage in the work depicted, as well as the unique character each industry brings to Texas.
