2019-2020 Post Baccalaureate Undergraduate Applicant

 

Definition -

An applicant who has a degree and wishes to apply for further study at the undergraduate level or to pursue a second bachelor’s degree.

Documents Needed/ Required Credentials 

BY THE APPLICATION DEADLINE. 

   * Please select the Transfer Undergraduate Application when applying online as a post baccalaureate applicant.

  • Nonrefundable Processing Fee - $25. Credit card payments via ApplyTexas are preferred. Checks and money orders made payable to TAMUK are accepted. 
  • Official College Transcript(s) from all colleges attended. Must be mailed in a sealed school envelope or submitted electronically from each institution attended.

* College work from one institution posted on the transcript of another institution will not be accepted. Faxed or emailed copies will not be accepted. (Official high school transcript not required). 

  • Proof of degree earned.
  • If permanent resident, must submit a copy of both sides of the permanent resident card or I-485 by the application deadline.  If application is in process please provide copy of  I-797. 
  • If Texas resident based on SB 1528, must submit the SB 1528 affidavit prior to enrollment. 

 

Admission Requirements

Complete application files are reviewed by the Admission Office. Admission decisions are based on the following:

  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on all college coursework attempted;
  • be in good standing with most recent institution attended; and,
  • information presented in the application.

NOTE: To be accepted into the College of Engineering, the overall grade point average from all college work must be 2.5/4.0 or greater.

  • Grades for all transferable courses are used in the computation of the GPA.

* This average is calculated on all transferred college-level work the applicant has undertaken, whether passed or failed.

* Plus and minus grade designations are not used; C+ is computed as a C, B+ is computed as a B, etc.

* Grades from transitional (developmental) courses are not included

NOTE: Admission as a Post-bachelor student to the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDO) program at TAMUK requires approval by the department. The department may require additional items prior to making a decision. It is recommended that applicants to this program contact the program prior to submitting an application. Additional Information

  • Not all prior coursework will be articulated for Post-Bachelor students.
  • Post-Bachelor students are strongly encouraged to meet with an academic advisor shortly after their admission decision is processed to start a degree plan and to make sure that they get registered for the most appropriate courses for their major.
  • A minimum of 36 semester hours of 3000 and/or 4000 level coursework are required for all bachelor degrees.
  • A minimum of 24 of the last 30 course hours MUST be completed in residence at Texas A&M University-Kingsville to qualify for a Bachelor degree.
