2019-2020 Readmission Applicant

READMISSION APPLICANT:

Definition-

A former degree-seeking Texas A&M University-Kingsville undergraduate student, who does not have a bachelor’s degree and who was last registered two or more years ago at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. 

Readmission does NOT include applicants who graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville but want to return for additional coursework.

Spring 2019  -  Opening July 1, 2017   Closing December 1, 2018

Summer 2019  -  Opening July 1, 2017   Closing May 1, 2019

Fall 2019  -  Opening July 1, 2018   Closing August 1, 2019

Spring 2020  -  Opening July 1, 2018   Closing December 1, 2019

Documents Needed/Required Credentials

All materials must be received BY THE APPLICATION DEADLINE.

* Please select Readmit, Undergraduate Application when applying online.

  • Official College Transcript(s) from all colleges attended since applicant left Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Must be mailed in a sealed school envelope or submitted electronically from each institution attended.

* College work from one institution posted on the transcript of another institution will not be accepted. (Faxed or emailed copies will not be accepted).  

  • If permanent resident, must submit a copy of both sides of the permanent resident card or I-485 prior to enrollment. If application is in process, please provide copy of I-797. If under 18, a copy of the parent’s permanent resident card is also required. 
  • If Texas resident based on SB 1528, must submit the SB 1528 affidavit prior to enrollment.

All students under age 22 entering an institution of higher education (public or private) must provide proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination within the last 5 years. See more information at http://www.tamuk.edu/hoggiedays/BacterialMeningitis.html

Admission Criteria/Conditions

Admission decisions are based on: 

  • GPA on Texas A&M –Kingsville coursework;
  • GPA on coursework since leaving Texas A&M-Kingsville;
  • in good standing with most recent institution attended
  • desired major; and
  • information presented in the application. 

Transcripts from institutions attended since the last enrollment at Texas A&M University are required as follows:

2019 Spring Semester – Need transcripts through 2018 Summer Semester.

2019 Summer Semester – Need transcripts through 2018 Fall Semester.

2019 Fall Semester – Need transcripts through 2018 Fall Semester if applying before June 1.

2019 Fall Semester – Need transcripts through 2019 Spring Semester if applying after June 1.

Notes:

* A 2.0 GPA on coursework in progress during the semester (excluding summer terms) immediately prior to enrollment at Texas A&M-Kingsville is a condition of admission.

* If GPA is below 2.0, student must meet with the department after readmission.

NOTICE: Students who have been placed on Enforced Withdraw (EW) by TAMUK three (3) or more times prior to applying for readmission are required to obtain a letter from the Dean of the College to which they are returning before they will be readmitted.

Additional Information

  • Grades for all transferable courses are used in the computation of the GPA. 

This includes :
* Failing grades, repeated courses, WF, Incomplete, etc. 

* Plus and minus grade designations are not used; C+ is computed as a C, B+ is computed as a B, etc. 

  • Credit by examination courses which are transcripted from other colleges or universities may be transferred if sequential coursework with credit is also indicated. For credit to be granted, the name of the exam(s) must be clearly indicated on the transcript. 
  • A minimum of 36 semester hours of 3000 and/or 4000 level coursework are required for all bachelor degrees.
  • A minimum of 24 of the last 30 course hours MUST be completed in residence at Texas A&M University-Kingsville to qualify for a Bachelor degree.
