Dr. Wm. Brice Finney

Brice Finney is an Associate Professor for the Veterinary Technology Program in the Department of Animal, Rangeland and Wildlife Sciences at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He was born in Indiana and grew up in Minnesota where he spent his formative years paddling and exploring the lake country of Northern Minnesota. Prior to pursuing a college education, he served as a team member on a U.S. Army Special Forces Operational Detachment “A” (ODA).  Brice has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in wildlife (1990) and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with a food animal / production medicine track (1993) from Purdue University.

He is a formerly retired US Army Medical Department Veterinary Corps Officer, Commander, Green Beret and veteran of three major military conflicts and recipient of the Bronze Star medal. Brice is the founder of the School of Veterinary Technology for Harrison College in Indianapolis Indiana and served as Program Director, Dean and Campus President until joining the VETT team at TAMUK. In addition, he has been more or less Program Director and Co-Founder for two other post secondary veterinary medical training and teaching programs. The Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center (JSOMTC) at Ft. Bragg, NC and the VET TECH Institute in Fort Wayne, IN. He is the former owner / operator and Medical Director of Icevet LLC / Ketchikan Veterinary Clinic in SE Alaska, Icevet Enterprises LLC and Icevet II PC with veterinary practices in Indianapolis Indiana. Brice has served as the USDA- APHIS-Animal Care Veterinary Medical Officer for the Indiana area. He is board eligible for the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alaska State Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (animal welfare committee), Association of Veterinary Technician Educators and the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association.
