Hi, I’m Cory! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor here at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, where I work with students in Counseling Services. I’m also a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and teach as an adjunct faculty member in the Curriculum and Instruction department at Angelo State University.
I’ve been in the mental health field for over a decade, but before that, I had a very different gig. I worked in donor database management by day and moonlighted as a DJ by night. That mix of experiences taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life and how to “read the room,” whether it’s on a dance floor or in a counseling session.
Before my counseling career began, I served in the U.S. Navy on a fast attack submarine, which shaped my commitment to teamwork, adaptability, and resilience.
When I’m not working, you will usually find me spending time with my wife, Andrea, our six-year-old daughter, Audrey, and our crew of three dogs and three cats.
