Hello, I am Christina Aranda and I serve as an Accommodations Counselor at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, where I strive to provide individualized support to students with disabilities. I am dedicated to promoting student success and equity through ongoing case management, evaluating documentation to determine service eligibility, and managing the Disability Resource Center’s website. In addition, I am a Texas and National member of the Association on Higher Education and Disability.
With over 20 years of experience in education, I have served as a Special Education Teacher in Corpus Christi, Texas, where I developed and implemented Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), contributed to special education curriculum development, and held leadership positions, including Special Education Chairperson. I was certified as an EC–12 Special Education teacher and have been honored with multiple Teacher of the Year awards in recognition of my dedication and impact in the classroom.
I hold a Bachelors in Organizational Development from the University of the Incarnate Word and a Master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, with an anticipated graduation in Fall 2028. In addition to my role at the Disability Resource Center, I proudly serve as a Caring Campus Representative and am a graduate of the President’s Aspiring Leaders Program—demonstrating my ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
I am married to my high school sweetheart and together we have a grown daughter who has blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking cookies, and walking my three fur babies.
