Vanessa Martinez grew up in the Linn-San Manuel/Edinburg, Texas area and has always had strong ties to agriculture and education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and her master’s degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Tennessee. Before pursuing her graduate degree, Vanessa worked as a classroom teacher, an experience that helped shape her passion for teaching and connecting with students. Vanessa and her husband, Charley, have two children, Henry and Remi.
