TAMUK is a participant in The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. We do not have reciprocity with California.
If you are pursuing a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health with the goal of becoming licensed outside of Texas, it is your responsibility to contact the relevant licensing board in the state where you intend to practice. This will help you determine if there are additional requirements that need to be met, such as post-graduation coursework, exams, further experience, fees, background checks, fingerprinting, or other necessary steps for licensure.
If you have any questions after reviewing the state's guidelines, feel free to reach out for assistance. While we can provide general guidance, it is important to understand that ensuring compliance with the specific licensing requirements of your state is ultimately your responsibility. We recommend thoroughly reviewing any additional requirements before enrolling in a licensure-track program to make sure you’re fully informed about what will be necessary to obtain your professional license.
