Program Admission
Thank you for your interest in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
Due to the strong interest in the program and current cohort capacity, we have reached our enrollment limit for the upcoming admission cycle. At this time, applications are being reviewed for the Spring 2027 admission term.
Your application remains under active review. Applicants who meet eligibility criteria will be considered for Spring 2027 admission, and updates will be communicated as decisions are finalized.

Admission Requirements
To be accepted into the program, the applicant must submit the following documents:- A bachelor’s degree
- A transcript with a minimum overall 3.25+ GPA in undergraduate coursework
- A transcript with a minimum overall 3.25+ GPA in graduate coursework for transfer students and major change students
- No requirements for MAT or GRE

- A Resume
Admission to the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is competitive and cohort based. Cohort size is limited to a maximum of 30 students per admission cycle to ensure alignment with faculty capacity, accreditation standards, and the quality of clinical training experiences.
The student needs to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher throughout the program. Only the final grade of the course “A” or “B” will be accepted for this degree. Our program accepts a maximum of 15 transfer credit hours if the syllabi meet the CACREP standards.

- You may mail your documents to Graduate Admission, 700 University Blvd., MSC 128, Kingsville, Texas, 78363.
- At this time, the university is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may drop your documents for your admission, registrar, Military & Veteran Resource Center, or financial aid file at the Blue and Gold Central (BGC), first floor in the Memorial Student Union Building, 1050 W. Santa Gertrudis Ave., Kingsville.

Once you submit your application, you may check the status of your application by logging into your Blue & Gold Connection using your applicant ID and your password, which is your birth date. You will use your birth date using six digits with no dashes (mmddyy). For example, if your birth date is December 15, 2001, you will use 121501.
