Oindrila Roy is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy. Oindrila received her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Presidency College, Kolkata, India (2006), and her master’s and PhD in Political Science from Kent State University (2014). Before coming to TAMUK in 2025, she was an Associate Professor of International Relations at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.
Oindrila has extensive teaching and mentoring experience at the undergraduate level. She has taught a wide variety of classes on International Relations, Public Policy, and quantitative research methods. Outside of the classroom, Oindrila has participated in multiple short-term study abroad trips to Italy, India, and Sri Lanka. Additionally, she has supervised several civic engagement initiatives, including overseeing student grant-writing internships with local non-profits in Vernon County, Missouri, and preparing students to lead non-partisan workshops on voter registration.
Oindrila’s substantive expertise is in the areas of religion and politics, foreign policy analysis, and immigration attitudes. Her research has appeared in multiple peer-reviewed journals, including Politics and Religion, Foreign Policy Analysis, Congress & the Presidency, Politics, Religion, and Ideology, and the Journal of Political Science Education.
