Does Texas A&M University-Kingsville Recreational Sports offer outdoor adventure trips?
While Texas A&M- Kingsville Recreational Sports doesn't directly offer outdoor adventure trips, we've partnered with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Outdoor Adventures to allow TAMUK students the opportunity to participate on the Texas A&M- Corpus Christi Outdoor Adventure Trips. TAMUK Students can get more information on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi trips, clinic and outdoor equipment rentals here.
How much do trips cost? Do I need to have my own camping gear?
Cost of the trips vary. Cost covers transportation, dinners, and camping gear needed for the trip. TAMUK Recreational Sports can help provide financial assistance to help cover the cost. Complete the Outdoor Adventure Interest Form at the top of this page for more information on financial assistance.
Where do the trips depart from?
All trips depart from the Dugan Wellness Center on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus. TAMUK students will need to get transportation to the Dugan Wellness Center. If a TAMUK student needs transportation to the Dugan Wellness Center email recsports@tamuk.edu.
Can TAMUK Students rent outdoor equipment for personal use from Texas A&M- Corpus Christi Outdoor Adventures?
Yes! Part of the partnership allows TAMUK students to rent equipment from Texas A&M- Corpus Christi. For equipment available for rent and prices please visit https://www.tamucc.edu/rec-sports/equipment.php.
Backpacking Lost Maples
Date: February 20th-22nd
Cost: $75 per person
Cost covers gear, transportation, dinner, reservations, etc.

Skydiving
Date: February 27th
Cost: $160 per person
Join us on an opportunity to scratch skydiving off the old bucket list. If you are brave enough, you will get to experience about a minute of free fall followed by a gentle descent back to solid ground. Guaranteed to be a trip not easily forgotten.
Backpacking Smoky Mountains
Date: March 7th-15th
Cost: Early Bird Price: $500-$700 per person
Cost covers gear, transportation, dinner, reservations.
Come with us as we explore the wonderful, misty Blue Ridge Mountains! We'll be backpacking and camping, seeing waterfalls and historic towns and sites across one of the most popular National Parks in the East US. Sunrises and sunsets as the fog rolls in... what better way to spend your Spring Break?

Surfing Clinic 1

Have you ever wanted to learn how to surf, or just wanted to improve your skills? Come out to the beach with us for the day to give it a shot.
Kayaking Colorado River
Date: March 27th-29th
Cost: $85 per person
Cost covers gear, transportation, dinner, reservations, etc.
Join us as we paddle down the Colorado River! We'll be camping at night and working our way to the pick up spot. Just a bunch of river rats for the weekend!
Windsurfing Clinic
Date: April 4th
Cost: $40 per person
The Southern Gulf Coast of Texas is revered for its windsurfing potential. Come try your hand at the invigorating sport of windsurfing in waters of the stunning Padre Island National Seashore.
Llano River and Kickapoo Caverns
Date: April 10th-12th
Cost: $85 per person
Cost covers gear, transportation, dinner, reservations etc.
Come with us as we explore South Llano River State Park! We'll hike out to our campsites and enjoy the area, and then take a day trip to explore Texas' very own Devil's Sinkhole! A great way to enjoy parts of central Texas and spend a weekend hitting two state parks.

Padre Island National Seashore Overnight Surfing
Date: May 1st-2nd
Cost: $60 per person

Padre Island National Seashore is a beautiful area, and a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Mustang Island or Whitecap Beaches. Join us as we spend the night on a protected beach with our surfboards at the ready to join in the sunrise surfing.
Exploring Puerto Rico
Date: May 18th-23rd
Cost: Early Bird Price: $750-1000 per person
Cost covers gear, transportation, dinner, and reservations in Puerto Rico(Not flight)
