Gilbert Trevino


Adjunct Professor of Horn

Gilbert Trevino, a native of Roma, Texas, is a dedicated hornist with a growing reputation for both his musical excellence and professionalism. His performance career has taken him to notable venues, including Powell Hall in St. Louis, where he served as Principal Horn with Sinfonia Winds during Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia’s 57th National Convention. In 2024, he was invited to perform as a collaborating artist at the International Horn Symposium.

Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance from Texas A&M University–Kingsville, where he studied under Dr. Jennifer Sholtis, and a Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati, where he worked with renowned instructors like Dr. Margaret Tung and Elizabeth Freimuth. His dedication to his craft and thoughtful approach to music continue to shape his upward trajectory in the industry.
