South Texas Environmental Engineering & Science Academy (STEEA) Program
The STEEA Program (see flyer here) is offered by the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering’s Department of Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The STEAA Program offers educational opportunities and development of skills to middle/high school and community college students in environmental sustainability, engineering and science by integrating engineering and science principles to improve and manage natural and built environments.
Currently, STEEA is offering the following programs:
- Campus Visits
Visit our department here at TAMUK. We would be glad to introduce your students to our environmental engineering program, give a tour to our lab/facilities, and participate in hands-on environmental activities.
Students spend 3-5 days, 4-6 hours per day working on fun environmental research projects, guided by our engineering faculty and students on topics including climate change, water and air quality control, desalination, geospatial analysis, data analytics and more. Dates/times are flexible.
Students learn the latest on environmental informatics (handing data via programing) and earn a certificate of participation as extracurricular activity. There will be 3 virtual sessions (for 2 hours each).
We can visit your school!
We can provide on-site 45 minutes STEM hands-on activities. Just let us know.
