Before You Begin

Before your first day at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, please complete the following steps:

Complete Your Background Check

  • Watch for an email from First Advantage with instructions to complete your background check.
  • All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the background check.
  • If the background check has not been completed and cleared before your scheduled start date, your employment start date may be postponed until the next available new employee orientation.

Human Resources will provide required onboarding forms. These may include:

  • Offer Letter
    • Faculty employees will receive an Appointment Letter from their college rather than Human Resources.
  • End User Responsibility Statement

  • Complete the I-9 on or before your first day of employment.
  • Bring your original, unexpired I-9 supporting documents to the Office of Employee Services for verification.

Connect with Your Supervisor

  • Contact your supervisor prior to your start date to discuss first-day expectations, reporting location, work schedule, and department-specific onboarding activities.
