At Texas A&M University–Kingsville, we recognize that a diverse workplace brings together individuals with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. While this diversity strengthens our university, it can sometimes lead to workplace concerns or misunderstandings. Many issues can be resolved through open communication, while others may require additional support.

The Office of Employee Services is committed to fostering a fair, respectful, and supportive work environment. We provide resources and guidance to help employees and supervisors address concerns, maintain positive working relationships, and ensure policies are applied consistently and equitably.

Our team works proactively with employees and managers to address concerns early and effectively.

We offer confidential support and practical solutions for employees and departments, including:

  • Help resolving conflicts and mediating disputes
  • Training on communication, leadership, and effective management
  • Assistance with performance management and improvement plans
  • Support during transitions or reorganizations
  • Answers to questions about policies, compliance, and employee relations

Texas A&M University System Regulation 32.01.02 Complaint and Appeal Process for Nonfaculty Employees establishes the procedure for any complaint or appeal by or against a nonfaculty employee of The Texas A&M University System that does not allege discrimination, harassment and/or related retaliation based on a protected class.

Workplace complaints, not alleging illegal discrimination or related retaliation can be filed appropriately with the Office of Human Resources, or pursuant to the Faculty Handbook, depending on the situation using this form.

For students, formal complaint procedures are outlined in the Texas A&M University–Kingsville Student Handbook. Informal concerns may also be reported directly to the appropriate campus office.

Per University Rule 33.99.14.K1 (PDF) existing employees must inform their supervisor or appropriate university office within 24 hours of any criminal arrests, criminal charges, or criminal convictions, excluding misdemeanor traffic offenses punishable only by fine. If circumstances prevent this, employees should notify their supervisor as soon as the situation allows it, and provide explanation for the delay. Employees should refer to University Rule 33.99.14.K1 to determine the appropriate university office to notify.

Harassment and discrimination, including sexual harassment and discrimination are illegal under federal and state statutes, including but not limited to Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, and is prohibited by Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Texas A&M University–Kingsville Employee Notices & Policies

The regulations, policies, and rules of the Texas A&M System, as well as any federal or state laws pertaining to employment, must be known and understood by every employee of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. All employee members of the system are required to obtain a copy of these policies once a year and are strongly encouraged to read them thoroughly.
