Javelina Regents’ Scholarship for Incoming Students
The Javelina Regents’ Scholarship is part of the Texas A&M System Board of Regents’ commitment to making college more affordable for first-generation, low-income students. This scholarship supports incoming first-time-in-college and transfer students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree at TAMUK.

Initial Eligibility Requirements
- Be a first-generation college student
- Be admitted as an undergraduate first-time-in-college or transfer student
- Be a Texas resident
- Be pursuing your first bachelor’s degree
- Submit a FAFSA or TASFA
- Demonstrate household income of $40,000 or less
- Enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester
Renewal Requirements
- Maintain enrollment in at least 12 credit hours each semester
- Continue demonstrating financial need through FAFSA or TASFA
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements
Note: No separate application is required. Eligible students are automatically considered after admission to the university. Funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Javelina Golds' First Generation Scholarship for Continuing Students
The First Generation Scholarship Award supports continuing first-generation students as they continue their academic journey at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. This scholarship provides additional financial support to help students stay enrolled and succeed in college.
Scholarship Criteria
- First-generation undergraduate student
- Pell eligible
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Degree-seeking student
- Part-time or full-time enrollment
- Continuing students or transfer students eligible

Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Application Deadline: July 15th
