First To Go supports students who are the first in their families to attend college. At Texas A&M University–Kingsville, we celebrate the strengths, resilience, and leadership of first-generation students by creating opportunities for connection, mentoring, and success. Whether you are looking for support, want to connect with other first-generation students, or want to give back as a mentor, First To Go is here for you.

What is First To Go?
First To Go is TAMUK’s initiative to support and celebrate first-generation college students through mentoring, connection, and opportunities designed to help students thrive academically and personally.
Through this program, students can:
- Connect with mentors who understand the first-generation experience
- Participate in success seminars and campus events
- Build community with other first-generation students
- Access resources that support academic and career success
- Celebrate milestones such as the First-Generation Graduation Recognition
Who is this for?
First To Go is designed for: First-Generation Students Students whose parents or guardians did not complete a four-year college degree. Faculty and Staff Campus professionals who want to mentor and support first-generation students. Alumni and Student Leaders Individuals who want to give back by encouraging and guiding the next generation of Javelinas.
