To ensure adequate time for review and consideration, all Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) submissions—whether a new protocol, renewal, or amendment—must be submitted via Cayuse no later than 14 days prior to the next scheduled IBC meeting. Because any submission may require Full Committee Review at a convened meeting, this deadline is strictly enforced. Furthermore, initial pre-screening by the research compliance staff assigned to the IBC may identify necessary revisions for the investigator to complete. These revisions could potentially delay the formal committee review, so all investigators are strongly advised to plan accordingly and submit their materials well in advance of the 14-day deadline.

Meeting Minutes:
Effective June 1, 2025, in response to NIH Notice NOT-OD-25-082, the TAMUK Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) will publicly post its approved meeting minutes, with allowable redactions per NIH Office of Science Policy (OSP). The IBC generally meets monthly, but meetings may be canceled if no voting items are present. Minutes are formally reviewed and approved at the subsequent convened meeting.
