Academic Collegiate Enhancement (ACE)


HEART Project participants that complete the four Academic Collegiate Enhancement (ACE) components below will receive a $200 tuition remission if they meet further eligibility criteria.

  1. Meet with your Academic Success Coach, Mr. Alfonso Ramos, twice during the semester for success coaching sessions designed to build a relationship that will assist in recognizing academic success barriers and strategies to overcome them.
  2. Career Exploration is the process of connecting who you are as a person to meaningful career choices that align with your values, interests, personality, skills, strengths and motivations utilizing the Focus 2 assessment.
  3. Attend a HEART Project peer mentor led time management workshop and a study skills workshop.  The workshops are hands on designed from a student perspective to show practical techniques on how to be a successful in college.
  4. Attend tutoring sessions at least twice a semester with the PAAC or Writing Center.

Tuition remission eligibility requirements include (1) first time in college student (FTIC) or first semester transfer student, (2) Hispanic and/or low income and (3) in one if of the following majors: Agribusiness, Agriculture Science, Animal Science, Range and Wildlife, Biology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Human Nutrition, Mathematics, Accounting, Electrical Engineering, and Kinesiology.
