Interfraternity Council (IFC)
IFC is the local governing body for social fraternities that are members of the North American Interfraternity Conference. The purpose of the IFC is the promote scholarship, leadership, service, and recruitment among member organizations.

Interfraternity Council Meeting
IFC meets every Tuesday at 4:00 pm at the Javelina Student Engagement Center (JSEC).
Quick Facts
- There are 5 member organization on our IFC Council
- The first national fraternity at TAMUK was Kappa Sigma in 1965
- Sigma Chi Fraternity has been on our campus since 1967, making it our longest thriving Greek organization
- Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Incorporated was the first multicultural fraternity to charter on TAMUK in 2002. Unfortunately, due to membership decrease, the chapter closed in Spring 2022.
- Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity was later chartered and became the second multicultural fraternity in 2010.
- Delta Chi Fraternity was officially chartered on November 3rd, 2018.
- Alpha Sigma Phi began their expansion efforts on our campus Fall 2018 and gained their first class of gentlemen for the Iota Rho provisional chapter October 2nd, 2018.
