Incoming Exchange Program

Incoming Exchange Program Overview

The International Exchange Program is offered for incoming international students of partnered institutions through the Office of International Studies & Programs. Our office is your main point of contact and will assist you before, during and after your stay with Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

The International Exchange Program is a selective opportunity designed for both undergraduate and graduate students from partnered international universities under an active MOU agreement. OISP, TAMUK, the State of Texas, and the United States Government have regulations that you will need to be aware of and follow during your time as an exchange student. This information will be provided to your home institution's student exchange coordinator once nomination to our program has been approved.

Nomination Process

Students will need to meet with their home institution's student exchange coordinator to express their interest in attending the student exchange program with Texas A&M University-Kingsville and to request their nomination. The following criteria will need to be met to receive a nomination:

  • The home institute and Texas A&M University-Kingsville are under an active MOU agreement that includes the student exchange addendum;
  • Incoming students meet the English proficiency requirements to be accepted for admission by the university. Information about these requirements can be found on the International Exchange Students webpage for the Admissions department.
  • Any institutional requirements of their home university for attending the International Exchange program.

The home institution's Study Abroad office should e-mail studyabroad@tamuk.edu with the following Nomination Information, once approved:

  • Nominated Student's Name
  • Semester(s) requesting to attend (Fall, Spring, or Both) & Academic Year
  • Academic Level of Nominated Student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior)
  • Current English Proficiency Score

The nomination request is the formal notification from the home institution of a student's interest in participating in the student exchange program with our university. Receiving a nomination does not guarantee acceptance into the student exchange program nor the university. Our office will review all nomination requests and send the official decision to both the student and their institutions' study abroad office. Approved nominations will work with our office to complete the remaining steps to participate in the exchange program.
