TAMUK VetHUB Program

Our VetHUB Mission

Texas A&M University-Kingsville's VetHUB Mission The Texas A&M University-Kingsville VetHUB mission is to increase the participation of Veteran Heroes United in Business (VetHUB) vendors by providing procurement opportunities, making good faith efforts to include service-disabled veteran-owned businesses in university contracts and purchases, and fostering positive relationships between VetHUB vendors and the university.

(This mirrors phrasing from similar TAMU System pages, like TAMIU's, while shifting fully to VetHUB focus. It removes old HUB references and emphasizes "good faith efforts" as required under the new rules.)

Texas A&M University-Kingsville VetHUB Goals

Under the restructured VetHUB program, statewide quantitative utilization goals (previously percentage-based for various HUB categories) have been removed. The focus is now on qualitative goals: increasing overall participation of certified service-disabled veteran-owned businesses through good faith efforts in solicitations, subcontracting plans (for contracts $100,000+ where opportunities exist), and reporting via Progress Assessment Reports (PARs).

TAMUK continues to support VetHUB inclusion by:

  • Encouraging departments to seek out and consider certified VetHUB vendors in all procurements.
  • Requiring good faith efforts for subcontracting opportunities on applicable contracts.
  • Tracking and reporting VetHUB participation as part of state compliance.

What is a VetHUB Vendor?

A VetHUB vendor is a for-profit small business (corporation, sole proprietorship, partnership, or joint venture) in which at least 51% of the ownership, management, and operation is held and controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans. The veteran(s) must have a service-connected disability rating of at least 20% as determined by the federal military department (e.g., VA). The business must meet Small Business Administration (SBA) size standards, have its principal place of business in the State of Texas, and be certified through the Texas Comptroller's Veteran Heroes United in Business program.

Certification is free and valid for four years. For full eligibility details and to apply, visit the Texas Comptroller's VetHUB page: https://comptroller.texas.gov/purchasing/vendor/hub/

  • Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL) VetHUB-certified vendors can register on the CMBL (with a $70 annual fee) to receive bid opportunities from state entities, including TAMUK. Search for VetHUB vendors using the “VetHUB Only” filter in the CMBL system.
  • Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD) All state solicitations (including those from TAMUK) are posted on the ESBD for public viewing and bidding.
