Outreach Activities


Fall 2011- Spring 2012

  1. The Robotics Club had its first meetings and fundraising activities during both in Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters.
  2. TAMUK College of Engineering organizes a robotics completion among high schools (BEST Robotics). This year students taking the robotics class were mentors for 11 high school robotics teams for about six weeks. The competition was held in October 2011.
  3. During the Best Robotics Competition, TAMUK Robotics Club had a table and display to inform visitors about our program.
  4. PI of this project gave two presentations (Fall 2011 and Spring 2012) at DelMar College about the robotics program and design activities of its students.
  5. PI of this project gave a presentation in April 2012 at Ray High School about the robotics program and design activities of its students.
  6. Four teams from TAMUK attended to 2012 IEEE Region V Robotics Competition in Tulsa, OK (19-20 April 2012) and took the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th places out of 32 schools.
  7. Teams of robotics course gave presentations during TAMUK Senior Design Conference (April 18, 2012).
  8. Robotics Club organized a so-called Robotics Day at TAMUK. An Internal Competition among teams was performed. TAMUK faculty, students, and high school students were present (April 30, 2012).
  9. Robotics Day activities were broadcasted on a local news channel (April 30, 2012). by Kiii TV 3 out of Corpus Christi Texas, video no longer available

Fall 2010 - Spring 2011

  1. Robotics Club has been formed and recognized by the University as a student organization.
  2. The Club had its first meeting and elected the officials in Fall 2010.
  3. TAMUK College of Engineering organizes a robotics completion among high schools (BEST Robotics). This year students taking the robotics class were mentors for 13 high school robotics teams for about six weeks. The competition was held in October 2010.
  4. During the Best Robotics Competition, TAMUK Robotics Club had a table and display to inform visitors about our program.
  5. PI of this project gave two presentations (Fall and Spring) at DelMar College about the robotics program and design activities of its students.
  6. Two teams from TAMUK attended to 2011 IEEE Region V Robotics Competition in Baton Rouge, LA (15-17 April 2011) and were placed in top five.
  7. Teams of robotics course gave presentations during TAMUK Senior Design Conference (April 27, 2011).
  8. Robotics Club organized a so-called Robotics Day at TAMUK. An Internal Competition among teams was performed. TAMUK faculty, students, and high school students were present (May 3, 2011).
  9. A researcher from SWRI gave a presentation on Robotics Day (May 3, 2011).
  10. Robotics Day activities were broadcasted on a local news channel (May 3, 2011).
  11. Two teams were invited to compete at IEEE local chapter senior design competition. Both teams secured the top two places (May 5, 2011).
